5 weeks old
On Friday Mark was 5 weeks old! Everyday I think how can he be this old already. We unscientifically weighed him on our gym scale (Tim with a baby vs Tim without a baby) and it seems he is a little over 13 lbs. I am not sure how accurate it is, but he sure is big. We went hiking on Saturday morning. Tim carried Mark in a pouch sling, he slept the whole way. Tim was very happy that we finally got to go into the mountains- even if it was only the very begining foothills. I was really happy to have my first real exercise here in Denver without any ill affects.

Proof that I am in Colorado too!

Mark has cute outfits
Tim's folks being here gave us time to go to the swimming pool at our apartment. Even though Mark is not allowed to go in public pools until he is older we still put him in his suit and hat because it is very cute
Of course he was only happy with this for a short while.
I am not sure how to rotate photos here, I will try to get this one upright later. These are Mark's first overalls.

And no wardrobe would be complete without some tie-dye.
Tim's folks were here all last week. Mark had a great time with them, and it was great to have the help.

Three generations of Cichan men
Mark has been smiling for weeks now, but it is almost impossible to get on on the camera. I managed to get two pictures of him smiling at Grandma. He has a great wide open mouth smile that I will capture someday too.

4 weeks old
So we were trying to take a family photo
But Mark decided that he wasn't interested
He won't sleep in it, but at least he will let me put him down in his bassinette for a few minutes before screaming.
I couldn't resist the behind bars shot :)
See that big milk tummy! Our new diapers arrived this week, so we have a whole days worth of this all-in-one variety! I thought cloth diapering would be a bigger hassle than it has been. We started with 4 different varieties of diapers, just a few of each, to see what we liked best. These won out, they are just like disposables- no folding, or stuffing, they even have elastic tabs. Luckily our apartment isn't too big and the laundry is in the kitchen so it is easy to throw the load in every morning.

Mark has a favorite toy
Thanks Jenny! Mark got a present from cousin Jenny yesterday that included a puppet from Alaska with different animals on each finger- and he loves it. It is the first toy he has paid ANY attention to at all. He is so cute following it around.

This is Mark's favorite place to sleep- and see how cute he is with his hand under his chin.
We have visitors!

The cutest face (alien face)
Right when he starts to wake up he makes wrinkles his forhead and sticks out his chin. It looks a little like ET so I call it alien face. It is one of the cutest ones he makes- but it happens so fast it is hard to get a picture.

This is from a few nights ago when we went for a walk
note that his onsie matches his blanket!
Finally all the way asleep- you can tell by his hands above his head

Just a few more
More two week photos
They are hard to catch on camera, but he has a great smile- when it is big there are even dimples. Of course the smiles don't seem to be related to anything- certainly not anything we do, but we love them just the same.

His little hands! (oh and see my wedding ring- I am so happy I can get it on my finger again)
I think this look is "mommy, enough with the flashing"
