Children's museum this morning

So we finally managed to pack up and make it out of the house in the morning.  We had been doing lots of afternoon trips, but Mark is going to Jamie's house in the afternoon now.  We went to the Children's museum this morning.

Mark was pretty excited to use the tools today- specially the saw and the drill.  We have played a little in the construction area before, but today was the first time he really wanted to make the tools do something.  No interest or intent to be making a product just using the tools to see how they worked.

I used to take Mark here when he was very little and enjoyed this crawling area of the museum.  It is a lot harder to take two kids here.  Lilly wants to do the slow exploring and Mark wants to be in the bigger kid areas.  When I asked him to stay in this area so Lilly could play he was able to find fun things to do for about 10 minutes.  I am proud of his ability wait- it's really hard for a two and a half year old.

Lilly is teething for a couple of days now.  This rolling pin was perfect for her- she held it almost the whole time we were there.

Mark put all these things in the cave and then left for Lilly to come find them.  Sometimes two kids is hard but mostly it is just wonderful.

Easter Weekend

Mark "washed" all the cars ("Daddy's car, Mommy's car and MY car") and we headed to a hotel for a mini vacation.  Yes, the wood is still in Herman from my trip to home depot last weekend.  Maybe this week I will get a few minutes without the kids to put the garden boxes together.

First we went to dinosaur ridge.  it was pretty windy and cold so we decided to take the bus up instead of walking.  But, despite what it said on their website, we missed the last bus.  We played in the gift shop and the kid area for a while.  Marks wasn't too happy because the other kids who was playing there came over and hit him on the head with a plastic shovel.  Lilly was plenty happy to ride around with Daddy and see stuff.

I tried to get a moment laying down by myself, but the kids and Tim all thought that they should be involved in my moment- Lilly is in my other arm.

Back in the room after the pool trip.  Both of the kids had a great time playing in the pool until they were cold and we had to make them get out.  And Tim did a great job of watching both of them so I could sit in the hot tub for a few minutes.  I just love how curly Mark's hair gets when it has been wet.  

We went back to Dinosaur Ridge on Sunday and it was nice so we walked up.  Mark eventually got in the stroller and fell asleep- dinosaur tracks and geology lessons just weren't all that exciting to him.   We thought the dinosaur tracks were amazing.

Then we went to have Easter diner with Lisa and Betty.  Betty made ribs (yum) and hid eggs for Mark.  He really liked running around their yard finding them.  Unfortunately, only took video of that and my video converter isn't working.  Lilly and Tim had a good time playing this drum.

I took this same photo of Mark on morning.  Lilly is just about to grow out of this onsie so I had to get the repeat photo.  Unfortunately the Mark photo is stored on my other computer and so I don't have it to put up right now.  If you go to Aug 17 of 2007 you can see Mark wearing it.   I will add that although Mark was wearing this shirt at 3 weeks old- it is too short to button at the bottom on Lilly now.

The last week

Lilly is having a good time exploring food- and eating some of it.

We went to the museum this week and after taking a good look at the dinosaurs we played in the preschool area for a while.  Mark had a great time with this toy.

He refused to even look at the camera so this is the best shot I got of him- he is crawling out the tree tunnel

Lilly mostly chewed on this carrot- her bottom teeth are on their way they made bumps on her gums- but they aren't white yet.  

This week I made a whole dinner of fancy crepe dishes.  There was a goat cheese/basil appetizer, this baked egg dinner and strawberry/cheesecake desert.  We were too full to eat the desert ones until the next day.  Mark really like them.

It has been lost for a few weeks.  But it is found again so you can see how the kiddos continue to be such little cuties :)

Lilly is really long- I can't believe she is already 7 months old.  She is crawling and this week she started to say mmmmmm and daaaa daaaa specifically to Tim and I.  

Mark is tickling Lilly's face and saying "tickle, tickle, tickle".  Lilly looks like she might like it in this photo- but she is really saying "Mom, please help me" :)

"I am coming to get your camera"

I am learning to knit- this is my first item its a dish cloth.  Mark was pretty sure that the only way I could take photos of it was with him holding it :)

I am pretty excited about putting in a small garden this summer.  Mark and I started these seeds on my birthday.  Mark has been really excited about watering them.  He also "helped" mix them one day when I wasn't watching- we will see if any of those come up.   And yesterday he was so excited that our first bean came up that he brought it to me- just the bean plant.  Then he told me it was a scary plant because it had a mouth.  

Some photos from our trip to Kettle Falls

The kids and I went to Kettle Falls for a week.  I was pretty nervous about flying by myself but it went well.  It was Lilly's first flight and Mark's first flight with his own seat.

Mark spent a lot of time outside doing all sorts of things.  His favorite games were feeding the horse and taking his dump truck to the beach.

Lilly loved the beach too.

Grandma and Grandpa had a good time with the kiddos.

 Lilly thought that she should eat some grass and pine needles.  Grandma tried to convince her not too.

Lilly also thought that Grandpa's hat was pretty great.

Grandma and Grandpa tried hard to teach Lilly to crawl while we were there.  But, she decided to wait until we were home with dad get it.  She did have her first experience in a high chair.  Here she is at Rancho Chico getting ready for some of Grandma's yummy food.  When we got to Kettle she was just eating a few bites every few days- and by the time we left she was eating every night.  I think it was all the good food Grandma made for her.

6 Months old

This post is a few weeks late, but the photos were taken on Lilly's 6 month birthday.  It is hard to believe she is so big already.
