More two week photos

Baby Mark with uncle Ben

Is that baby Mark asleep in his bassenettet? It is!! While he won't stay asleep there longer than an hour, at least he will sleep a little on his own.

He is just so sweet when he is sleeping.

Two weeks old

Aunt Lisa has been a huge help! Because of her help we have gotten walks, showers and naps!!

He is just so cute when he puts his hands under his chin to sleep.
Can you tell that we are tired?

Hard to believe it has already been two weeks! We saw the DR yesterday he is already 9 lb 11 oz- that is a one lb weight gain in a week and a day. At least we don't have to worry about him getting enough food :) He is spending more time with his eyes open and we are starting to see a bit of a pattern emerge in his sleeping/eating habits. Tim went to work part time this week and will be full time next week, it will be interesting to be home alone 9 hours a day instead of just 4 or 5.

1 week old

What can we say- we are just as happy as we could possibly be!

For some reason he seems to like being on the changing table, we usually spend some time looking at each other when he is up there. Of course the fun all ends when someone touches him with a wet wipe- he is not so fond of those.

I am not sure Tim wanted this one posted, but I think they look very cute. This is our new baby wrap, Mark loves it and it is a lot easier to put on that it looks. It also gives him some of that skin to skin contact that is so good for babies while still being able to use both hands. I like that it gives Tim a bit of understanding of carrying the pregnacy weight.

He is just too cute- sleeping in the middle of a diaper changing!

1 week old

Mark is one week old today. I can't believe it has already been that long. We had a great night sleep last night- he was up to eat at 11,12,1,4,7- but in between those feedings he slept well and in his bassenette! Tim is still getting used to this schedule, but I am feeling pretty good as I am getting more sleep than the last month of pregnancy. All our relatives went home, but we had a good time with my parents, Tim's mom and sister earlier this week. (my sister and BIL live in town) We made two outings this week, one to a store in boulder to get an infant sling- I didn't like the one we had and one to target. Mark seemed to enjoy both- or at lest they didn't really wake him up.

Mark with the relatives

Here are a few good pictures of Mark with his relatives. We have all decided that he looks most like a Cichan.

Welcome Mark Patrick Cichan

9 lb 3 oz
20.5 inches

We are home from the hospital and both Mark and I are doing well. We had a wonderful birth experience at the hospital. Tim and Lisa did a great job coaching through the labor. We arrived around noon on Thursday. I was induced due to my blood pressure being very high. Labor gradually increased throughout the evening and I was in active labor by midnight. Mark came just after 7 am. We stayed in the hospital through Saturday evening. Since then we have been trying to adjust to being at home with a newborn. He is eating and sleeping well, but not always at the times we would prefer. We are very lucky that my parents had a load coming to Denver this weekend. They arrived a few hours after the birth, and Tim's mom and sister were able to get last minute tickets to fly out and be with us starting today.

We made it to Denver!

We have been here for almost two weeks now. It has been really hot, I have been spending most of my time inside and Tim has started his new job. We do have a few photos to share. The first is from Red Rocks ampitheater, it is open all the time and you can just walk up in it. There were a lot of people there running up and down the stairs, wow, I was winded just walking into the theater. I guess non of those people working out were 8.5 months pregnant. Herman has also arrived, Tim and Ben took a ride around when he got here. He is running pretty well, but I think that dad needs to come here and tune him up for being a mile high. I am officially full term as of yesterday! We will try and take a good belly shot this weekend and you can see how much bigger I am (is it possible to keep growing?).

Amy's Baby Shower

Here are some pictures from Amy's baby shower that took place on June 2nd. There were lots of wonderful gifts and kind words and fantastic food- thank you all. But the biggest suprise was when Lisa walked in the door- all the way from Denver. Thanks to Sharon for the airplane ticket and to Marty for being the limo driver

Thanks also to Sharon and Corine and Jenn for all the organization, decorations and great food. And Jaime made a delicious cake

Thank you all for coming and for your wonderful gifts. Featured here is baby Cichan's first Led Zepplin onesie.

Big News (and a big belly)

First the big news is that Tim has accepted an Orion (the new spaceship to the moon) Job in Denver and we are about to move. This means we have to clean up our house! Here is one of the photos that will be on our MLS listing.

Next is just a progress report showing that I am, in fact, still growing at an astronomical rate. I asked the midwife at the last appointment if I would continue growing like this- she laughed at me and said yes :) I am not sure how I can bigger, but I will find out.

Our Kitchen is finally done!

I started to take our kitchen out of the 70s about a year ago, and the final coat of paint went on last weekend! Mom and Dad finished the ceiling and put the first coat of paint on the remaining wall while we were at work, then Tim finished up the painting (in my big belly state I am staying away from fumes). The kitchen isn't very clean in these photos- but I thought if I waited until the kitchen was clean you would never get to see them :)
