On almost the last day of Pop Pop and Nana's visit Tim took the day off work and we went up to the Georgetown loop railroad. I had assumed that the "loop" meant the trip was a loop, but the trip was up and back. The loop is in reference to a large loop in the line just uphill from Gerogetown that was put in to get more distance in the line because the slope was too great in between towns there.
We spent the ride up in the outside car. One of the instructions was to not put your body outside of the car- Mark took this to mean that you must keep your hands at your sides and was unhappy when I tried to rest my elbows on the edge for taking photos.
But mostly he thought it was awesome to be on the train.
On the way back down we moved to an inside car, mostly to get out of the direct sun. At this point the kids got DONE, Mark thought that the train went to fast on the way down and Lilly simply wanted to get off. Then she spent the rest of the day pointing out trains and saying she wanted to get on them.
